#392: The EP Collection
Legendary rocker Marshall Crenshaw<br>releases his first new CD in more than<br>six years, #392: The EP Collection. <br>The album compiles all of the original songs and cover versions from<br>the acclaimed six 10 EPs Crenshaw released over the last three years, with some<br>of the songs featuring new mixes. There are also two previously<br>unreleased bonus tracks, a live cover of the Everly Brothers Man<br>With Money recorded with the Bottle Rockets and a demo of the<br>Crenshaw rarity, Front Page News along with special liner notes<br>penned by Crenshaw for this release.<br> I ve been making records for most of my adult life, says Crenshaw,<br> at this point in time I think that I ve mostly gotten the hang of it, and<br>I still love doing it. <br> I ve always put a great deal of care into the albums I ve made, <br>Crenshaw says, and this is evidenced by the depth of his original<br>songs contained here as well as the deft covers ranging from the Carpenters<br>and James McMurtry to The Move and The Easybeats.<br> #392: The EP Collection will be available as a CD containing the two<br>Bonus Tracks and as a special Limited Edition 10 vinyl box set<br>containing the six 10 EPs. This edition will each be personally<br>numbered and signed by Crenshaw.<br>Over the course of a career that s spanned three decades, 13 albums and<br>hundreds of songs, Marshall Crenshaw s musical output has maintained<br>a consistent fidelity to the qualities of melody, craftsmanship and<br>passion, and his efforts have been rewarded with the devotion of a<br>broad and remarkably loyal fan base.<br>His debut album, "Marshall Crenshaw," was acclaimed as a pop<br>masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate<br>songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the Top 40 single<br> Someday Someway, which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered<br>and scored a hit with a year earlier. Other Crenshaw classics include<br> (You re My) Favorite Waste of Time, Whenever You re On My Mind, <br> There She Goes Again and Cynical Girl. The great songs continued<br>with the Field day and "Life s Too Short" albums ( Fantastic Planet of Love ),<br>three albums for Razor & Tie and the 2009 release, Jaggedland"<br>( Someone Told Me, Passing Through, Never Coming Down ).
